Sean Caldwell: (Professional Voiceover Talent - heard worldwide)
Dea is one of the best at helping with voice issues. She has great ears to hear, superior skills to diagnose, and a compassionate heart to help people regain confidence with their voice. She has been a great help to keep me in top shape.
Margaret: (patient with oromandibular and laryngeal dystonia)
...My doctor recommended speech therapy but I did not really think it would help me so I kept putting it off. However, when I came to see Dea Deming for the first time, I realized what I was missing! Ms. Deming was not only very professional and knowledgeable during my treatment but was able to put me at ease so that I could get the most out of each voice session. She was extremely encouraging to me and made me feel, for the first time, that I could have some control over my muscle tremors if I stuck with her planned exercises. Thank you for being a qualified and gifted speech pathologist and if anyone needs to know where to get help in this area, Dea Deming will be recommended.
Dianne: (mother of a 5 year old daughter)
Sienna was so excited to see you today. She's even self-corrected a lot today with no prompting (I'm definitely getting on her nerves...tee hee). She is doing better with that nightmare "r", because we are better about prompting her, even her 6 year old sister helps her!
Thanks again, you're doing so well with Sienna, she's motivated to work hard just to see you! (And just told me she wished she could see you on Monday, so it would come sooner. She's a sweetie.)
John: (patient with voice difficulty secondary to a vocal cord paralysis)
Dea, you gave me hope and you helped me with my voice. I shall forever remember your willingness and your kindness when you worked with me. Dea, thank you for helping me and know that there shall always be a special place in my heart just for you.
Rhonda: (mother of an 8 year old daughter)
I just wanted to thank you again for the time you spent with Lindsey and the difference it has made in her speech. I'm still amazed at how quickly she improved. Corey's speech progressed right alongside her and he now also has perfect r's.
Eric: (patient seen pre- and post surgerical intervention for a vocal fold polyp)
...I began preliminary speech/voice therapy to address ongoing issues with clarity of my voice as a result of polyp growth and vocal cord stress. The initial idea was to address some speech issues that were the cause of the problems in hopes that surgery could be postponed until after a busy travel/work schedule. At that time, my voice was marginal at best and terribly strained. Through the process, breathing and voice exercises, therapy helped me better understand what the root cause was and how to best avoid future issues from recurring.
The comprehensive program undertaken at that time did, indeed, allow me to get through the requirements for my job in traveling extensively overseas and long meetings and presentations until the time came to remove the polyps through microsuspension laryngoscopy surgery performed by my otolaryngologist. This was followed up by regular post recovery rebuilding and strengthening of the vocal cords with state of the art examinations and practical techniques as directed by Dea Deming for proper vocal resonance and breath support. Through this extensive and detailed program that was well documented, my vocal strength and resonance was back to what I would deem 100% within two to three months - and remains strong to this day.
I give tremendous credit not only to the surgical procedure performed by my ENT but of equal importance, the significance of speech/voice therapy and knowledge gained from Dea Deming's extremely thorough and comprehensive pre and post surgery recovery and maintenance schedule. This tremendous insight and techniques learned will stay with me for my lifetime and for that I am greatly indebted and can only suggest anyone with vocal issues needs to implement this system as part of a short term and long term plan.
Again, my thanks to Dea for her tremendous care and hands on approach to my successful recovery from this horrible condition...I am greatly indebted for everything you have done.
Barbara: (patient with voice difficulties secondary to a vocal cord paralysis)
My ENT recommended a speech pathologist to help me with my vocal cord paralysis. Dea was the second voice pathologist I visited. She proved to be a most compassionate and knowledgeable speech pathologist. Dea, has a winning way that makes you feel relaxed. I appreciated how she explained each step of voice therapy. These explanations encouraged me to be more involved in my treatment. As a real estate agent for 15 years, I was extremely frustrated with losing my voice. After 8 months of no voice, Dea, encouraged me to look into other solutions to getting my voice stronger. I highly recommend Mrs. Deming for voice therapy.
